The view of one of the terrace viewed from one of the residential complexes.
A building that not only portrays innovation, geometrical structure, nature and coexistence, but makes me want to buy a one way flight ticket and never come back. Imagine living in one of the penthouses and experiencing the northern extreme of the building where offices and commercial complexes are located simultaneously merge with the southern extreme where the tranquility of a suburban life takes place. What about taking a continuous tour of the building from the roof? With an extremely attractive view of the canal and the city of Copenhagen that inspire the masses to strive for innovation.
A small and quick sketch with pencil of the view that I would love to wake up in the morning and see every day. Factors such as the sun light, wind and clouds beautify the building more than it is and is the perfect representation of tranquility and sophistication.
The author explains perfectly the purpose of the three dimensional neighborhood and the functions that each level (ground floor, first floor and roof-top) has in that micro community. It also provides the impacts and options that the 8 Tallet has in his occupants which are "new opportunities for sports, integration and culture under one roof". At the end of the text, the author briefly explains the inspiration that led the architects to assemble the stairs that give access to the roof-top the way they are.
In this text, the author illustrates an explanation of the function that the bow-shaped building has in society. The author also describes how the building peacefully interacts with nature and its surroundings by allowing the building to portray sustainability and innovation. The various types of housing, commercial and office complexes are also explained, their location and what each floor contains.

The simplicity of this image is beyond the borders of my aesthetical pleasures. The way each object has a soft texture covered in grays and whites is extremely pleasing. How each aspect inside the picture perfectly interacts with each other makes me have the urge to slide my finger into one of the surfaces. It is amazing how clean and sophisticated it looks with a the geometrical figures and clear colors.
On this aerial snapshot of the environment of the 8 Tallet you can clearly see how finely the building is located apart from the chaos with a view to the canal and an open peaceful field.
It is amazing how every single aspect of life is taking in consideration when creating architecture. Throughout the entire videoBjarke Ingels illustrates the philosophy and purpose behind the design of the 8 Tallet and the graphical explanation of his building.
A Documentary of the production of the architects of "BIG".
From know on this will definitely be part of my to-do-list, visiting this place is a must. The simplicity, sophistication, geometry and rhythm are simply astonishing and are some factors that catch your attention right away. Everything you need is located in one place and is the perfect place to live.
I chose this picture because the perfect symmetry with reflection with the water is such a peaceful thing to observe. The aluminum and glass makes the building very innovative, technological, soft and very thin. The alignation with the cosmos that makes it absorb every natural resource is beautifully assembled. THREE FACTS ABOUT THE 8 TALLET
"Two sloping green roofs totaling 1,700 m2 are strategically placed to reduce the urban heat island effect as well as provide the visual identity to the project and tying it back to the adjacent farmlands towards the south."
"The undeniably unique, long, multi-sloped house has immense differences in height which the architects feel “create a strong inflow of light and a unique local community with small gardens and pathways that channel your thoughts into mountains in Southern Europe and memories of a childhood home.”'
"BIG says 8 House was partly inspired by classic townhouses as well as "the open, democratic nature of functionalistic architecture."'
